All over the web there are random people's home pages that tell you about the person who put it there, their dog, what movies they like, and who their friends are, but it does you, the web browers, little or no lasting good. Well, I want to be different- to justify me hogging the bandwidth that I do. I hope you'll read something that I've written here and say "hey, that's neat. And gosh darn it, he might just be right." That's why I'm doing this. I know some of what I write might sound, um, out there, and some might just be completely stupid. Most of the time, what I write is what I truly believe and have come up with over the years of observing and thinking about humanity, the earth, nature, the universe, and how everything fits together. Someday, too, I hope to put it all in a book and publish it, just because a lot of my friends would then be able to understand why I do some of the things I do. But until then, click, read, and be merry. And have an outstanding day.
- herzogbr.net Blog- (10/06) isn't it wonderful - everyone else has a blog, and now I do, too.
- Me on emailing- (11/9/99) this is a pretty irrelevant diatribe, complaining about the problems I see with the way people email... damn aol'ers.
- Me on war in Kosovo -or- "the opinion of an indifferent citizen"- (4/19/99) basically, this is my understanding of the conflict in Kosovo. The next step in this project is to document my observations on the opinions and reactions of this conflict in those around me. I wonder if I'll ever do that.
- Me on being the effects of global warming- (1/17/99) here I talk about the more personal and immediate effects of global warming - none of that "melting-polar-ice-caps" stuff, man, I'm talking about hair loss.
- Me on being dramatic- (12/15/98) this is a short peice, but kind of involved, with a long story behind it. I talk about the theory of "life-imitating-art-imitaiting-life," and progresses on to the overrated practice of being dramatic.
- Me on the end of the world- (10/23/98) this is some half-hearted "proof" that time for the human race is quickly running out - and our increased lack of creativity is the key.
- Me on "art" and "craft"- (10/23/98) here I try to define my difference between "art" and "craft." Why I found this necessary, I don't know, but it bugs me how readily people describe things as "art."
- Me on hamburgers- (8/24/98) this was written for a newsletter published by Crunchy Music Stuff of North Carolina, and is about how the state of hamburgers show us exactly what's going on in society today.
- Me on spelling- this is my justification for why this site, and pretty much everything else I write, seems to be littered with so-called "spelling and grammar errors".
- Me on abortion- this is an article I wrote in 1996 for an university newspaper. It was never published, though, because I missed the deadline and it exceeded the 500-word limit. And it was a Catholic school.
